10 Cozy Recipes for Fall
The first hint of cooler weather always makes me want something warm and comforting for dinner. But fall also means school, activities, and plenty of nights when I need dinner to be easy. These are 10 recipes I’d put on repeat this season: a mix of crockpot meals I can start earlier in the day and cozy dinners I can pull together when everyone’s home and hungry.
Every recipe is already on my site, so click the recipe name or the “Get the recipe” link for the full ingredients and instructions. I mixed the crockpot dinners throughout the list so you can pick what sounds good tonight.
1. White Lasagna Soup
If you want lasagna flavors without layering an entire lasagna, this is the one. Italian sausage, noodles, cheese, and a creamy broth make it feel like a big Sunday dinner, even on a weeknight. I’d serve it with crusty bread for dipping.
2. Crockpot Italian Beef Sandwiches
This is a chilly evening sandwich in the best way: tender Italian beef, toasted hoagies, melty provolone, and a little jus for dipping. Let the crockpot do the work, then set everything out and let everyone build their own.
3. One Pan French Onion Chicken with Orzo
Caramelized onions, tender chicken, creamy orzo, and melty cheese? This is exactly what I want when the weather finally cools down. It feels a little special, but it’s still a practical one-pan dinner for a busy night.
4. Crockpot Mississippi Chicken
This is one of those throw-it-in-the-crockpot dinners that tastes so good over mashed potatoes or rice. The chicken turns tender and buttery, with ranch, au jus, and banana peppers adding plenty of flavor. Save this one for a night when you know the afternoon will get away from you.
5. Loaded Baked Potato Soup
A loaded baked potato in soup form is always a good idea once fall hits. This one is creamy and hearty, with potatoes, bacon, and cheddar. Put out extra toppings so everyone can finish their own bowl.
6. Crockpot Chicken Parmesan Soup
Chicken parmesan as a cozy bowl of soup? Yes, please. You get the cheesy, tomatoey comfort of the original with the ease of a slow cooker. Add some bread on the side and call dinner done.
7. King Ranch Casserole
King Ranch Casserole is a family favorite with a little extra meaning for me. It’s based on my grandmother’s recipe, simplified for the way we cook now. Creamy, cheesy, and full of Tex-Mex flavor, it’s the kind of dinner everyone wants seconds of.
8. Crockpot Chicken Spaghetti
Chicken spaghetti is already comfort food at our house. Making it in the crockpot makes it even better for a busy fall day. It’s warm, cheesy, and exactly the kind of dinner I want after an afternoon of running around.
9. Classic Lasagna
Some nights call for the real thing. My classic lasagna has a hearty beef and Italian sausage sauce, ricotta, and plenty of mozzarella. It’s a great one to make when you have a little more time and want leftovers to look forward to.
10. Crockpot Chicken Marsala
Chicken Marsala feels like something you’d order out, but this version lets the chicken and mushrooms cook in that rich Marsala sauce while you get on with your day. It’s one of my favorite ways to make a regular weeknight dinner feel cozy.
